About the exhibition: This dance photographs represent the artist’s interest in catching the “duende” of the dancers and the temporality of movement until its dissolution; the instance of poses through the evolution of dance; and finally, the loneliness of the dancer on stage due to the internal concentration that flamenco as a dance implies.

Film director Pablo Croce, captures the work behind Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater in a short documentary note. A look into the behind the scenes of the company’s day to day activities. Some of the most important achievements as an organization and most of all, the dedication love and constancy of each member through out this past years.

FLAMENCO INTIMO

December 17 2016. First public performance of the Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater’s “Flamenco Íntimo” was held at the Arsht Center under the artistic direction of Siudy Garrido and the musical direction of José Luis de la Paz.  A total of 14 artists performed, including six of the company’s dancers, special guest artist Rafael Utrera, and Venezuelan flute virtuoso, Huascar Barradas. During this successful event, the audience enjoyed a rendition of the Cuban song “Guajira” as well as Huascar Barradas’s interpretation of “El Pajarillo” (“The Little Bird”), an upbeat Venezuelan folk melody. Siudy Garrido received a standing ovation for her solo performance of  “Soleá por Bulería.”

FALLA & FLAMENCO WITH DUDAMEL

May 25th 2015 – Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater shined at the Los Angeles Disney Hall with The LA Phil and Juan Manuel de Falla.  The piece titled, “Amor Brujo” (Love the Magician) debuted on a surprising dance theater production, artistically directed by Siudy Garrido.  Trusted by the LA Phil and conductor Gustavo Dudamel, Siudy Garrido presented her vision of the story the Ghost.

FLAMENCO INTIMO Y FARRUQUITO

Saturday May 30th, 2015 Siudy Garrido’s Flamenco Intimo debuted at the Miami Dade County Auditorium, filling the air with great expectation from an audience eager to witness a stage shared between Siudy and celebrated Spanish dancer Farruquito.

Miami Symphony Orchestra and guest artist Siudy Garrido

On Saturday, November 20th 2016, acclaimed dancer and choreographer Siudy Garrido joined the Miami Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eduardo Marturet, as a guest artist on its MISOCHIC 2016 event.

SFDT Performed “Love the Magician” with Cristien Macelaru and the Aspen Chamber Orchestra.

On August 19th, Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater was invited to perform “Love the Magician” in the prestigious Aspen Music Festival at the Benedict Music Tent in Aspen Colorado.

On May 25th Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater dazzled with its inaugural Gala and Fundraise event at the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, in support of Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater.
