A pioneering flamenco artist redefining the art form for a new generation
Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Siudy Garrido grew up immersed in flamenco from childhood. She debuted professionally at age 15 and by 18 was collaborating with Alejandro Sanz—launching a career that has spanned over 35 years on stage.
Her artistry bridges tradition and innovation, earning her recognition as one of the most influential flamenco figures in the Americas. Based in Miami, she has sold out performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center for over 12 years, where she serves as an Arts Partner.
Siudy's choreography speaks a universal language of freedom, identity, and raw emotion—inviting audiences to connect with their inner voice and pursue their creative paths.
"My feet are my voice. Through flamenco, I tell stories that words cannot express."

A second-generation flamenco artist, Siudy learned from her mother Siudy Quintero, who founded Venezuela's first flamenco school and was decorated by the King of Spain in 1992 for spreading Spanish culture beyond its borders.
Building on this foundation, Siudy took her mother's pioneering method and evolved it for the contemporary era—updating techniques while preserving the soul of traditional flamenco. Her educational vision combines rigorous classical training with creative exploration, empowering students to find their own voice within the art form.
Today, she has trained hundreds of professional flamenco dancers, developing a method that bridges generations and continents—carrying forward a legacy of excellence while pushing the art form into new territory.
