A Flamenco Reimagining of Manuel de Falla's Classic
The story of Candelas, a widow haunted by her late husband's ghost, transformed with modern and traditional Flamenco elements. This production brings new life to one of Spain's most beloved musical works through the lens of contemporary flamenco.
Premiered in 2015 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Maestro Gustavo Dudamel at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and subsequently performed at the Hollywood Bowl to audiences of over 17,000. The production has since traveled internationally, including performances in Turkey, India, and across the Americas.
The recent Miami iteration features award-winning two-time Latin Grammy nominee singer Argentina Lopez and acclaimed guitarist Jose Luis de la Paz with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. Choreography by Siudy Garrido with special guest appearances by legendary flamenco artists including Antonio Canales and Farruquito.
