A glimpse into the movement, music and emotion of Bailaora: Mis Pies Son Mi Voz.
Bailaora is an artistic statement that reflects the evolution and expansion of flamenco through the singular perspective of Siudy Garrido, a Latin American flamenco dancer and choreographer. The work embodies the universality of flamenco and its ability to transcend borders, cultures, and languages through the voice of a creator with a distinct artistic identity within the genre.
Her contemporary and theatrical vision of flamenco has established her as a significant figure in the development of the art form in the Americas. The original music, composed by Juan Parrilla and Manuel Fernández, represents a step forward in the sonic evolution of flamenco: a musical language rooted in tradition, yet projected into a contemporary soundscape without losing its essence, depth, or emotional force. Bailaora received two Latin GRAMMY® nominations, recognizing its original music and the documentary film that chronicles the creative process behind the work.
The work further expands its musical universe through adaptations of classics such as Pedro Navaja and encounters with jazz, including Take Five, reimagined through a flamenco language in an improvised dialogue between footwork and flute.
Beyond its musical and choreographic dimensions, Bailaora offers a deeply human reflection on identity, self-determination, and the search for one’s own voice. From a distinctly feminine perspective, it reveals both the vulnerability and inner strength of Siudy Garrido: an artist who has made flamenco her territory of expression, her form of resistance, and ultimately, her voice.
Step into a perspective of purity, envisioned through the movements of an impure dancer, launching her spirit into a lifelong journey.
Bailaora brings Siudy Garrido, her corps de ballet and a live flamenco ensemble together in a powerful encounter between dance, original music and visual storytelling.

Creator, Choreographer & Principal Dancer
Bailaora is the emotional journey of my life as a creator. I have always deeply loved the purity of flamenco, yet I grew up surrounded by other music, other artistic languages, and other ways of understanding art. For years, not having been born in Spain felt like a distance; with time, that distance became freedom.
What I once saw as my greatest obstacle became my greatest strength: the ability to honor the roots of flamenco without denying everything that I am. Bailaora is born from that encounter between tradition, identity, and truth.
